Volunteers play a valuable part in NISRA’s programs. With volunteers, we create opportunities where participants can receive more individualized attention.

Volunteer Opportunities at NISRA

Volunteers are crucial to the success of NISRA’s programs, helping us offer individualized attention and enriching experiences. Our programs run for 6 to 8 weeks, meeting once a week for 1–3 hours, with occasional one-day special events. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old.

Available Volunteer Roles

1. Program Assistant Volunteer

  • Support program leaders in delivering weekly activities for participants.
  • Commitment: Weekly for the 6–8 week season, 1–3 hours per session.

2. Activity Facilitator Volunteer

  • Lead or assist in facilitating recreational activities and games.
  • Commitment: Weekly for the 6–8 week season, 1–3 hours per session.

3. Special Event Volunteer

  • Help with the planning and execution of one-day special events.
  • Commitment: Varies based on the event schedule.

4. Administrative Support Volunteer

  • Assist with registration, record-keeping, and communication.
  • Commitment: Weekly or as needed during the 6–8 week season.

5. Fundraising Event Volunteer

  • Support the organization and execution of fundraising events.
  • Commitment: Varies based on the event schedule.

6. Event Coordinator Volunteer

  • Lead and manage special events, including vendor coordination and schedule management.
  • Commitment: Varies based on the event schedule.

7. Outreach Volunteer

  • Promote NISRA’s programs and recruit participants and volunteers.
  • Commitment: Flexible based on outreach needs.

8. Mentor Volunteer

  • Provide guidance and support to participants to help them achieve their goals.
  • Commitment: Weekly for the 6–8 week season, 1–3 hours per session.

9. Transportation Volunteer

  • Transport participants to and from program locations or events.
  • Commitment: As needed based on program or event schedules.

10. Workshop Instructor Volunteer

  • Lead workshops or classes on topics of interest.
  • Commitment: Weekly for the 6–8 week season or as scheduled.

Additional Information

  • Training: Provided before the start of the program.
  • Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 15 years old. A background check and required training may apply.
