Volunteer Opportunities at Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley

We appreciate our dedicated volunteers who share our commitment to creating an inclusive community where every child can thrive. Discover various ways to get involved by sharing your skills, time, and talents through our different volunteer opportunities.

Individual Volunteering

1. Administrative Tasks

  • Examples: Mailings, Filing, Scanning, Data Entry, Organizing

2. Special Events

  • Examples:
    • Superhero Hustle – Fall, Villa Park (Saturday)
    • Bike for the Kids – Late Summer, Elgin (Sunday)
  • Roles: Join planning committees, assist with event preparations, and provide hands-on support.

3. Building Maintenance

  • Examples: Gardening, Weeding, Watering, Groundskeeping, Fix-It Projects

4. Therapy Groups

  • Commitment: Weekly
  • Description: Support a therapy group at Easterseals, Villa Park. Programs run seasonally with the highest need in the summer months.
  • Requirements: Ages 16+, Background Check, and Orientation Required

5. Clinical Observation

  • Description: Clinical observation hours for students studying relevant disciplines.
  • Requirements: Background Check and Orientation Required

Group Volunteering

1. Administrative Tasks

  • Examples: Bulk Mailing, Assembly Projects

2. Special Events

  • Examples:
    • Superhero Hustle – Fall, Villa Park (Saturday)
    • Bike for the Kids – Late Summer, Elgin (Sunday)
  • Roles: Form a cheering section, staff water stations or rest stops, Set-Up/Clean-Up

3. Service Day

  • Description: Participate in seasonal clean-up and landscaping at our Villa Park location.

4. Host Your Own Project

  • Examples: Trunk-or-Treat, Adapted Field Day, Egg Hunt
  • Description: Organize activities or assemble giveaways for children at Easterseals.

5. Enhance Your Experience

  • Options: Add a Disability Awareness & Understanding presentation for your team.

6. Additional Support

  • Ways to Help: Event Sponsorships, Fundraising Campaigns, Program Support, Toy Drives

1. Clinical Observation Inquiry

  • Description: Opportunities for students to complete observation hours for school requirements.
  • Requirements: Background Check and Orientation Required
