U-46 Seeks Community Input for Name of New Larkin High School Stadium 

Suggestions accepted through April 24 

ELGIN - School District U-46 is inviting families, employees, and community members to take part in a historic milestone by helping name a new athletic stadium at Larkin High School.

The stadium, currently under construction and scheduled to open in fall 2026, will feature a turf field, a running track, and seating for more than 2,000 spectators.

Larkin High School was built in 1962 but has never had its own athletic complex. The new facility will allow the Royals to host their home football and soccer games at Larkin, following decades of playing at other sites.

Students, families, employees, and community members are encouraged to submit name suggestions online through Friday, April 24. Nominations must follow Board Policy 4:150.

Community input will also be gathered during a town hall at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, at Larkin High School, 1475 Larkin Ave., Elgin.

A recommendation will be presented to the U-46 Board of Education on May 18, with a final vote expected on June 1.

School District U-46 serves families in 11 communities: Bartlett, Elgin, Hanover Park, South Elgin, Streamwood and Wayne, as well as portions of Carol Stream, Hoffman Estates, St. Charles, Schaumburg, and West Chicago.
