What's new this month

Big ideas take flight when entrepreneurs have the right support. This month, discover how Tracey McGhee grew Ms. Jetsetter with guidance from ChicagoMSDC, explore how AI can become your “virtual team” in our Webinar Wednesday, and find upcoming events, resources, and opportunities—from the Federal Reserve’s Small Business Credit Survey to Cook County’s Veterans Resource Fair at Brookfield Zoo. There’s plenty here to inspire, connect, and equip you on your business journey.

Ms. Jetsetter takes flight thanks to Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council

For Tracey McGhee, founder of Ms. Jetsetter, the challenge of staying organized on the go sparked the idea for a line of stylish, functional travel accessories. But turning that vision into a growing business required more than great products; it required the right guidance.

That’s when Tracey turned to the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council (ChicagoMSDC), one of The Source’s Business Support Organizations. With the support of her advisor, Anita Hagan, she was able to position her brand for bigger opportunities, including a chance to feature her products at airports around the country.

“When I first launched the business, I just had the airports in the back of my mind. I knew that would be the sweet spot for my product line,” Tracey shared. “And so I mentioned that to Anita, and she got me connected. She’s just been that advisor that I think every small business owner needs in their corner.”
