The Hemmens Cultural Center Announces Presenting Season

Elgin, IL - The City of Elgin and The Hemmens Cultural Center are proud to announce the first presenting season at The Hemmens in over a decade.

The season opened with the return of Broadway Star, Courtney Reed, to The Hemmens Stage for a concert on Friday, January 10th, 2025 at 7:30pm. Ms. Reed was accompanied by the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. Courtney is a graduate of Larkin High School and performed at The Hemmens as a child. She originated the role of Princess Jasmin in Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway and most recently starred as Satine in Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

Friday, March 21st, 2025 at 7:30pm, The Hemmens will welcome magician Leon Etienne and his show Magic Rocks. Leonne has appeared on “America’s Got Talent” and “Penn & Teller: Fool Us!” where he fooled the titular hosts.

Friday, March 28th, 2025 at 7:30pm, Motown legends, The Miracles will perform. Singers of such hits as "Shop Around", "The Tracks of My Tears”, "You've Really Got a Hold on Me”, and “Love Machine”; the group will bring magic and memories to The Hemmens Stage.

Friday, April 25th, 2025 at 7:30pm, in tribute to The Queen of Chicano Music, 30 years since her passing, The Hemmens welcomes 512: The Selena Experience.

Sunday, May 18th, 2025 at 4pm, don’t miss 360 ALLSTARS. This high-flying, urban circus will dazzle audiences of all ages with bike stunts, breakdancing, gymnastics, and stunts you must see to believe.

Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 7:30pm, get ready to laugh with stand-up comedian Michael Palascak. You’ve seen him on Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, and all your favorite late-night shows.

The Hemmens Cultural Center is named after Hattie Pease Hemmens. Hattie and her husband Walter were prominent Elgin residents. When Hattie died in 1957 she left over $1,000,000 to the City of Elgin to "...establish and maintain a not-for-profit Community Building & Auditorium in the City of Elgin, Illinois, for the benefit of the inhabitants of the said City of Elgin..."

The Hemmens Cultural Center (www.hemmens.org), located at 45 Symphony Way in downtown Elgin, IL, is easily accessible from I-90. Parking is free.
