The Rotary Club of Elgin has been serving the community for over 100 years. Rotary’s slogan is “Service Above Self.” Rotary has been changing lives by providing assistance to many students and community service organizations. The Club is especially proud of their history of providing scholarships, which includes:

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA for short): It is a weekend of interactive experiences, teamwork, outdoor activities, and world class speakers. Participants have called it a life changing event. It is held at Camp Edwards in Wisconsin. For approved applications, the costs will be paid by the Rotary Club. This grant includes: transportation, lodging, meals, attentive chaperones, and FUN! Parents are welcome to visit! The application be found at: https://www.rotary5000.org/ryla.htm Choice of March 6-9 or April 3-6. Deadline to apply is Feb 22.  Apply as soon as possible to ensure you get the date of your choice.

Community Service Scholarships: For high school seniors who have gone above and beyond in serving their community. For those who have volunteered, taken leadership positions in service projects, helped to raise funds, brought awareness to a cause, and brought their energy to service projects. The Deadline to apply is March 25.  Your high school will be notified by April 28, 2025 if you are chosen as a scholarship recipient. 

Vocational Scholarships: For any students who are pursuing a certificate degree or specialized training rather than a 4-Year Degree. Additionally, there is a Ralph Helm Memorial Scholarship for those studying in the field of small engine or mechanical training. The Deadline to apply is March 5. 

Scholarships are based on the number of applications received. Funding for all the above grants will be approximately $20,000 in total.
