The House and Senate were in Springfield for this week's third and final day of session. Action in both chambers was rather uneventful aside from 35 bills being moved to Third Reading and 1 Senate bill passing out of the Senate. No nation of note took place on the House floor.

Committee Action of Note:
HB 1158, MWRD Bonds passed Senate Executive 8-3-0 yesterday. This bill amends the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Act. Provides that bonds, notes, or other evidences of indebtedness for specified purposes shall be issued from time to time only in amounts as may be required for such purposes but the amount of such obligations issued during any one budget year shall not exceed $250,000,000 (rather than $150,000,000) plus the amount of any obligations authorized by the Act to be issued during the 3 budget years next preceding the year of issuance but which were not issued.
HB 1699, Wastewater Operator passed Senate Environment and Conservation 7-1-0. This bill provides that the Environmental Protection Agency shall establish an operator-in-training wastewater operator program and an operator-in-training community water-supply operator program.
HB 2391, Wastewater Industrial Use-Support passed Senate Environment and Conservation 8-0-0. This bill provides that, notwithstanding any other provision of law, the use of treated municipal wastewater from a publicly owned treatment works is authorized for irrigation and industrial use (rather than only irrigation) when conducted in accordance with a permit issued under certain provisions of the Act.
HB 2456, Reservation Piracy passed Senate Judiciary 7-0-0. This bill Creates the Restaurant Reservation Anti-Piracy Act. Provides that a third-party restaurant reservation service shall not list, advertise, promote, or sell reservations for a food service establishment through the website, mobile application, or other platform of the third-party restaurant reservation service without a written agreement between the third-party restaurant reservation service and the food service establishment. Provides that the definition of "third-party restaurant reservation service" does not include any reservation distribution channel that is authorized to distribute reservations through a contract. |
