After more than 60 years of the Larkin High School Royals having to play their home soccer and football games at other sites, a groundbreaking ceremony was held on Feb. 24 for Larkin’s new athletic complex. The construction timeline calls for the football field to be open for this fall's Homecoming game. “It will make such a difference for student pride and belonging to have their own field to call their own,” Larkin Principal Jason Misicka said at the ceremony. “Soon, the ground we’re standing on will be the site of many great games, rallies, and events — and special memories.”
