The Elgin Area Chamber is pleased to host a Ribbon Cutting with the Downtown Neighborhood Association for the grand opening of Churros Y Chocolate, Inc. at 5:00pm on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 66 South Grove in Downtown Elgin.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Churros Y Chocolate's expansion into downtown Elgin,” said Carol Gieske, president, Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce. “Join us as we cut the ribbon and celebrate this family-owned business during their open house celebration which will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.”

The Elgin Development Group was instrumental in assisting them to find a location that suited their needs. “We are so happy that Churros Y Chocolate is finally opening their restaurant in Elgin after nearly two years of hard work. We know they will be successful and wish them all the best. It was a pleasure working with the family,” said Tony Lucenko, director, Elgin Development Group.

“Our family opened our first Churros Y Chocolate location in Algonquin in 2017,” says Yasmin Ramos, manager. “With the dream of our founder and the success of our first location and our food truck at various events including Elgin and at Festival Park,” says Ramos, “we knew the time was right now to open our second retail location right here in downtown Elgin. Our family is completely involved in the business, including my husband Valentin Ramos, my sister Victoria Ortiz and her husband Vince Ortiz. My husband is passionate about making churros and serving them to our customers.”

From freshly made desserts you can enjoy in-store with family and friends, to frozen churros you can take home, everything is crafted with care right inside their shop. Churros Y Chocolate also provides a menu for catering options and wholesale distribution.

Churros Y Chocolate offers a sweet and delicious menu that includes various flavors of churros, such as plain, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, dulce des leches, and apple. The popular gourmet filled churros offer tasty choices like banana, strawberry, kiwi, and a combo of straw-banana. Additional favorites are churro sundaes, a churro sandwich, and churro cakes.

All of these special churro temptations will be available at the Elgin location with the addition of fresh sandwiches to the menu. “We plan from the beginning to be open for lunch in Elgin,” says Ramos, “as long as our customers continue to enjoy lunch with us.”
