Family Service Association and Unique Health Now of Elgin provide an array of services.

In the heart of Elgin lies an invisible network of healthcare support that touches children, adults, and families every single day.
“From hospitals and physicians to therapy clinics and wellness centers, the Elgin Area Chamber is proud to recognize our members who deliver a wide range of health services and programs," said Carol Gieske, President and CEO of the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce. “Each one demonstrates a strong commitment to providing high-quality healthcare to the Elgin community.”
“We are fortunate to have Family Service Association of Greater Elgin, a long standing non profit agency since 1941, to Unique Health Now, a concierge medical practice, founded by Dr. Eunice Jacob-Charly, D.O. earlier this year in Elgin.”
Family Service Association recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the expansion of its offices at 1752 Capital Street in Elgin.
“Our programs and services have grown over the years,” said Janeth Barba, LCSW, who has been with the nonprofit since 2016 and now serves as its chief executive officer since 2024. “With our expansion, we have additional rooms for our administrative offices and learning and program areas. Our staff is passionate and compassionate in providing services for children, adolescents, and families. I love being in my role to work with them and to provide innovation for our services and programs."
Janeth sees the future of providing therapy services to clients will be strengthened through a more expedited way, such as in-person, office, phone, and ZOOM. “Our goal is to strengthen individuals and families so they can meet the challenges of daily life in a positive and constructive way.”
A large part of the client base at FSA is working with children from School District U-46 and Community Unit School District 300. “Our counselors provide services such as art therapy, drumming circle, group games, and more. “We have recently introduced trauma informed yoga which is a way for clients to reconnect with their body in a safe way.”
Yaneth values FSA’s Elgin Area Chamber membership. “Through our recent ribbon cutting ceremony, we are grateful for the additional level of support. The chamber rallies behind you, builds connections, and helps you get the message out.”
Dr. Jacob-Charly is an internal medicine and obesity physician. While she opened her practice, Unique Health Now this year, she has previously served patients in the Rockford area and worked in federal health clinics. “I felt the need to start my own practice because I didn’t want to limit my patients to time constraints and want them to feel connected with me so that I could genuinely help them with their health issues,” she said. “ The goal of my concierge medical practice is to provide highly personalized care in diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries and health conditions and chronic disease management.”
Dr. Jacob- Charly states that her concierge medical practice is highly personalized through a simple membership, bypassing the traditional fee-for-service system. “There is a new movement now to provide personal healthcare,” adds Dr. Jacob- Charly. “My patients can text me, call me, reach me at anytime, and I will be there for them.”
Unique Health Now provides preventive services; chronic disease management; obesity and weight loss care through distinctive and comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
