Do You Have a Tree to Donate?

The City of Elgin is currently seeking submissions for a 2024 holiday tree! The city is searching for the ideal tree to be the centerpiece of holiday celebrations at the newly renovated DuPage Court in downtown Elgin. If you have a tree that you think is suitable, please ensure that it meets the following criteria:

• Height - The tree should be between 30 to 50 feet tall to make a grand statement.
• Location - It must be located within 30 miles from the City of Elgin to ensure ease of transportation.
• Health - A tree that is in good health, with vibrant and lush foliage.
• Preferred tree types - A Norway or Colorado blue spruce, fir tree, or any other type of evergreen. Please note that pine trees will not be accepted.

To submit a tree for consideration, please provide the following information to specialevents@cityofelgin.org:

• The owner's full name, address, email and phone number.
• A brief message sharing why the tree should be considered, including any special significance or history.
• At least four high-quality photographs of the tree from different angles to showcase its beauty.

The selected tree will be announced in early November. The submission deadline is October 27, 2024.
