About

Masjid Al-Islam (IIE), located at 1290 Bluff City Blvd in Elgin, Illinois, is a significant Islamic center that serves as both a mosque for daily prayers and a prominent educational institution. It is deeply rooted in the goal of nurturing the next generation of Muslim leaders, scholars, and Huffāz (those who have memorized the entire Quran).

The masjid provides a peaceful environment for daily congregational prayers, with designated times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. They also hold multiple Jumu'ah (Friday) prayers to accommodate the community.

A core component of Masjid Al-Islam is the Institute of Islamic Education (IIE). Founded in 1989, the institute started with the vision of providing American Muslim youth with an education firmly grounded in Islamic traditions. It has grown to become a well-respected institution, dedicated to developing a strong understanding of the Quran and Sunnah, and producing religious scholars and Hafiz.

Beyond regular prayers and the educational institute, Masjid Al-Islam fosters a vibrant community through:

  • Community Events: Regularly hosting gatherings that bring the community together, such as Iftar during Ramadan, youth activities, and educational lectures.
  • Funeral Services: Providing assistance with Islamic funeral services and Janazah prayers.
  • Announcements and Educational Programs: Offering ongoing classes and discussions on various Islamic topics, such as Hadith studies.

Masjid Al-Islam stands as a central pillar for the Muslim community in Elgin, offering spiritual guidance, comprehensive Islamic education, and a supportive environment for families and individuals to grow in their faith.
