Responsibilities

  • The Senior Cost Accounting Manager monitors, analyzes and reports on costs and variances related to materials, labor and overhead spending
  • Gathers and analyzes information relating to materials, labor, overhead spending and related variances utilizing QAD and Microsoft applications
  • Assists in the periodic closing process
  • Prepares ad-hoc reporting for senior management
  • Ensures standard costs are accurate and updated as necessary
  • Analyzes production yield, costs, and efficiencies
  • This includes accurate product cost structures and underlying routings reflect actual activities
  • Creates efficient senior management summaries for all plants to highlight and analyze findings
  • Develops and implements procedures in writing to standardize costing and analysis of product output costs
  • Assists accounting with additional accounting related responsibilities and projects as needed
  • Prepares and reports analysis on operational performance and budget/forecast variances to strengthen cost controls, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies
  • Makes recommendations as appropriate and implements changes
  • Responsible for the cost accounting function at all plants
  • Manages the analysis of inventory related accounts on a monthly basis and ensure all required entries are recorded with the allowed closing time
  • Assists Operations Management in managing the manufacturing process

Summary of the Position:
