The Rental Event Attendant under the direction of the Recreation Manager and/or PT Rental/Banquet Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of facility rentals at the Pavilion at Lords Park and the Centre of Elgin.

Both locations are ideal for rental events for up to 250 people. The locations are perfect for wedding ceremonies and receptions, quinceaneras, baby and bridal showers, anniversaries, and memorial services, and birthday parties.

• Greet all renters as they arrive at the facility.
• Follow opening and closing procedures.
• Perform all duties related to the operation and supervision of the facility.
• Keep accurate attendance records/reports and complete all written records as required.
• Provide general information on Parks & Recreation activities and facilities.
• Maintain a positive public image and attitude with good public relations and customer service.
• Maintain control and enforce all rules and regulations of the facility.
• Communicate all facility concerns to the Recreation Manager or Community Program Supervisor.
• Wear appropriate staff uniform.
• Abide by all City of Elgin rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Manual.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Ability to work pleasantly with patrons and fellow employees.
• Ability to enforce all rules and regulations of the City of Elgin Facilities in a diplomatic manner.
• Ability to handle multiple duties.
• CPR certified within 3 months of employment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position will be working primarily on the weekends. There are occasional weeknight rentals. This is an ideal position for an individual seeking part time work and wanting to interact with people.

Hours: Hours vary based on event bookings – approximately 8-10 hours per week

Saturday and Sunday availability required - 11 am to 5 pm
