Community Outreach Coordinator for Office of State Representative Anna Moeller

What the Community Outreach Coordinator Will Do:

-Coordinate and organize events on state government services and relevant information for constituents and other stakeholders in the District.

-Assist in advertising and publicizing District events and programs utilizing a variety of modes of communication, including social media, email, and written materials

-Assist in direct constituent outreach, including legislative canvassing and phone banking.

-Prepare materials for canvassing, including walk-lists and hand-outs. 

-Attend community events as a representative of the State Representative. 

-Coordinate business outreach efforts. 

-Provide written and oral communication to constituents and other stakeholders who have questions regarding legislation or other state issues.

Skills and Educational Requirements for the Outreach Coordinator Position:

Educational Requirements:

Associate’s degree with two years of relevant, practical experience in a governmental organization or equivalent, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.  Ability to understand, speak, and write proficiently in English and Spanish is preferred.

Skills and Abilities Required:

-Ability to use computer systems and software related to word processing, spreadsheets, social media sites, and database management. 

-Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of constituents. 

-Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and duties and utilize effective time management techniques.

-Ability to demonstrate dependability and sound judgment.

-General working knowledge of the functions of local, county, and state government in Illinois. 

-Skilled listener, speaker, and writer 

-Must have the ability to travel independently within the 43rd District to events and programs

-Ability to attend some events on the weekend or after normal work hours

Position Status / Salary and Benefits

The Community Outreach Coordinator position is Full-Time (35 hours per week) state employee with health insurance and pension/retirement benefits. The starting salary range for this position is $50,000 to $58,000, depending on education and relevant years of experience.
