CHIEF INSTITUTIONAL SUCCESS AND ENGAGEMENT OFFICER

Elgin Community College (ECC) seeks an experienced and passionate leader who will help create a learning and working environment where all students, employees, and community members have an opportunity to succeed. The Chief Institutional Success and Engagement Officer (CISEO) is a senior-level management position reporting directly to the Preside
nt and serving on the President’s Cabinet.

ECC is a comprehensive community college serving communities northwest of Chicago, Illinois, across five counties, including most of Kane County and parts of Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, and McHenry. Its service area, District 509, is 360 square miles comprised of distinctive and diverse rural, suburban, and urban communities from Burlington to Streamwood, and from St. Charles to Algonquin. Founded in 1949, ECC recently celebrated 75 years of service. The college is an Achieving the Dream Leader College of Distinction, and a Top 150 Aspen Institute college. The U.S. Department of Education recognizes ECC as a Hispanic-Serving Institution.

The CISEO leads the development and implementation of proactive initiatives in support of the College’s strategic plan to create a learning and working environment where all students, employees, and community members have an opportunity to succeed. The position also has responsibilities that encompass outreach, professional development, and retention functions of human resources at ECC.

Some of the expected qualifications for the next CISEO include:
• Master's degree from an accredited institution in a related area (i.e., higher education, sociology, human resources, management, public administration or other related field). PhD or EdD preferred.
• Five years of successful experience advancing access, success, and engagement and community building in a complex organization.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all constituents and diverse and multicultural groups/populations.
• Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
