Join Us for a Once-in-a-Lifetime Community Celebration! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, communities across all 50 states and 16 U.S. territories will come together to participate in the Nationwide Reading of the Declaration of Independence as part of the America 250 commemoration. 

Join the Fox Valley Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, Elias Kent Kane Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Elgin History Museum as we gather on the museum lawn to read the document that changed the course of history and launched a new nation founded on liberty and self-government. 

πŸ“… July 8, 2026 πŸ•Ÿ Program Begins: 4:30 PM πŸ“œ  Nationwide Reading Begins: 5:00 PM πŸ“ Elgin History Museum 360 Park Street, Elgin, Illinois Bring your family, friends, and neighbors as we join Americans from coast to coast in this historic observance. 

Bring a lawn chair, enjoy refreshments, and stay after the program as the Elgin History Museum will be open for visitors. Together, we will reflect on the ideals of freedom, equality, and representative government that continue to shape our nation nearly 250 years later. We look forward to celebrating America’s story with you!
