SHOPPER MARKET GUIDE What day and time is the market? The 2024 Downtown Elgin Market will take place every Friday beginning on June 7, running through October 11. The hours will be 3pm to 8pm from June thru August and 3pm to 7pm from September thru October. Where do I park? Free public parking is available at numerous public parking garages and on surrounding streets. For street parking we suggest trying along Grove Avenue near Festival Park. The closest parking garage is located at the corner of Spring Street and Chicago Street. The nearest parking lot is at the corner of Prairie Street and Grove Avenue near Festival Park. Who are your vendors? We post a list of participating vendors each week on the Downtown Elgin Market Facebook page. For the latest information about vendor participation please follow us on Facebook. How can I sign-up to be a vendor? We are always looking for new vendors! Please complete the 2024 Vendor Application here. Will there be food available? Prepared foods will be available from food trucks and food carts on select market days. Select vendors will also be offering prepared foods to consume on-site or to take home. Where can I get a beverage? Great news … you can “Sip & Shop” the market! Watch for the beverage tent serving beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. What type of produce will you have? We will encourage our participating farm vendors to bring as much fresh produce as possible! Please keep in mind the seasonality of produce availability in our area will vary based on growing conditions and weather. Click here to see a guide to what’s in-season locally. Do you take credit, debit or EBT/Link? Yes! Most vendors are able to accept credit and debit. You can also purchase market tokens at the DNA Info Tent. We accept debit and credit for the purchase of tokens which can be used as cash with any vendor. In addition, those with LINK Cards can also purchase tokens at the DNA Info Tent and will be matched per the guidelines set forward in our 2022 LINK match program. Click here for LINK match details. Are there activities for kids or entertainment? Yes, we are planning special activities for kids and some exciting live entertainment. Please check our Facebook page for updates. What happens if it rains? In the event the market has to cancel or delay opening due to weather we will post to our Facebook page. Vendors will be notified of cancellations via email and electronic text alerts no later than 11am on the day of the Market. Early closures due to sudden poor weather conditions or other urgent matters will be advised to vendors as necessary. Are there public restrooms available? Yes! Port-o-Lets, courtesy of Waste Management, are available on the west side of Grove Avenue just north of Fulton Street. What are your Covid guidelines and do I have to wear a face mask? Our market will follow current Covid guidelines. Hand sanitation stations will be available throughout the market. Will sampling be allowed? Sampling policies will be subject to the local municipality and Farmer’s Market Association Guidelines for the 2022 season based on current Covid protocol.
