Centro is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Elgin since 1972 with a mission of empowering the Latino and immigrant community to integrate effectively. Centro is a DOJ recognized agency providing free or low-cost immigration application assistance, is the largest Illinois Welcoming Center in northern Kane County, is an ECM member emergency food pantry and more. Our keynote for this year's luncheon is Peter Larsen. Peter Larsen is a Minneapolis-born attorney, activist, and public-facing academic who has been working in the area of civil rights since 2008. As a nationally sought-after commentator and presenter, Peter will compare Operation Metro Surge with Operation Midway Blitz, share about how leaders across various sectors have responded to immigration enforcement in Minneapolis / St. Paul, and what community members can do endure in support of our immigrant family members and neighbors.
