ELGIN, IL — This year, the YWCA Elgin proudly marks its 125th anniversary—a historic milestone reflecting over a century of dedicated, unwavering service as a trusted lifeline for families throughout the community. To celebrate this remarkable legacy and build a foundation for the future, the organization will host its 125th Anniversary Celebration that will include an auction and gala on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Carmina’s Banquet in Elgin.

For 125 years, the YWCA Elgin has stood side-by-side with local residents during pivotal moments. In this year alone, the organization has served nearly 2,000 clients, guiding individuals and families through some of life's most complex and difficult challenges. The YWCA Elgin’s highly trained staff walks alongside each client every step of the way, offering not just profound compassion, but real, practical support through programs engineered to create lasting, generational change.

The vast scope of the YWCA Elgin's impact is brought to life through its comprehensive social and educational programs. These critical services include subsidized childcare for hard-working families, DACA renewal assistance, English language classes, and early childhood education via the Family Literacy program. Additionally, the organization provides clothing assistance, digital literacy training, immigration and citizenship services, workforce development opportunities, and even prom formalwear for area teens who might otherwise miss out on that landmark high school milestone. Together, these diverse initiatives reflect the organization's foundational commitment to equity, inclusion, and the inherent strength of every Elgin family.

Early-bird reservations are available now for $100 per reservation until June 30. After June 30, reservations will be $125.
