Elgin Schedules Ballot Placement Lottery for City Council Candidates

The City of Elgin City Clerk’s Office has scheduled a lottery to determine ballot placement order for City Council candidates.
The drawing will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, in the Office of the City Clerk located in Elgin City Hall, 150 Dexter Court.
The first drawing will establish the top four ballot positions for council member candidates who simultaneously filed their petitions of candidacy at 8 a.m. Oct. 19. Those candidates are:

• Siddiq M. Ashraf
• Timothy Ayalin
• Anthony Ortiz
• Frederick John Steffen Jr.
  
  A second drawing will establish the final two ballot positions for candidates who simultaneously filed their petitions of candidacy during the final hour of filing on Oct. 26. Those candidates are:
• Christopher Flaherty
• Kevin Zaldivar
