Elgin, IL - Attend the 2nd annual Elgin Earth Summit, a community fair event to promote sustainability and foster community engagement during Earth Month. The event will be held Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Heritage Ballroom, at the Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way.

  • Enter a free drawing to win an EV Bike (must be present at event to win).
  • Participate in engaging and informative 20-minute talks led by local and regional sustainability leaders. The sessions will cover a wide range of topics including the Kane County Climate Action and Implementation Plan, Embracing Multimodal Transportation for a Sustainable Future and Equity for Environmental Justice Communities.
  • Connect with 20 local environmentally-conscious organizations.
  • Network with others who share an interest in sustainability and environmental stewardship.
  • Learn about local and regional sustainability initiatives.

"We are excited to bring together the community for the 2024 Elgin Earth Summit," says Tom Armstrong, Chairman of the Elgin Sustainability Commission. "The event provides a platform for sharing ideas, discussing recent events, and connecting with other sustainability-minded individuals and organizations. We encourage everyone to attend and be part of this important community event."

Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of prior knowledge or experience with sustainability. All members of the Elgin community are encouraged to attend and learn more about local sustainability initiatives and resources. Light refreshments will be served.

Parking is available at the Centre, located in the heart of downtown Elgin and within walking access from both the Metra Milwaukee West District line trains and PACE bus service. Attendees are encouraged to carpool, bike or take public transit to the event! View route options and schedules.
