About
Enriching Partnerships for Early Learning (EPEL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a collaborative, community-wide system of support that helps young children and their families thrive. Serving the Greater Elgin area, EPEL brings together families, educators, healthcare providers, community organizations, and local leaders to ensure every child has access to the resources needed for healthy development, school readiness, and lifelong success.
Through innovative programs and strategic partnerships, EPEL works to increase access to high-quality early childhood education, family support services, childcare resources, and health initiatives. The organization uses a collective impact approach to connect families with valuable programs, strengthen community collaboration, and improve outcomes for children from birth through age five.
EPEL is recognized for community-focused initiatives such as The Basics of Greater Elgin, a science-based program that equips parents and caregivers with practical tools to support early brain development and kindergarten readiness. The organization also provides childcare resource navigation, family engagement programs, community outreach, and educational opportunities that empower families to support their children's growth and learning.
Since its founding in 2012, EPEL has partnered with more than 140 organizations across education, healthcare, government, and social services to strengthen early childhood systems throughout the region. By promoting equity, family engagement, and access to essential resources, Enriching Partnerships for Early Learning continues to be a leading advocate for young children and families, helping build stronger communities and brighter futures.
