About

Voyageur Landing Forest Preserve is a highly popular and active recreation hub along the Fox River. Once a private fishing camp, this preserve now serves as a key destination for water-based activities and trail connections. Its primary draw is the boat and canoe launch, which makes it exceptionally busy, especially on summer weekends. The sizable river pool north of Elgin attracts boaters from a wide area, eager to enjoy the water. For those who prefer a more tranquil experience, fishing is a popular pastime from the banks. Beyond the water, Voyageur Landing offers well-maintained bike and nature trails. Crucially, the Tyler Creek Trail connects to the larger Fox River Trail right here, even running under the I-90 bridge to the east side of the river, making it an excellent starting or stopping point for longer cycling or walking excursions. The preserve provides essential amenities for visitors, including picnic areas and shelters, perfect for a relaxing outdoor meal after a day of activities.
