David Wolkowitz is an Illinois litigation attorney practicing in the areas of general litigation and family law. He is the founding attorney of The Wolkowitz Law Office. General litigation includes contract disputes, personal injuries (like car accidents and dog bites), collecting on judgments, and more. Attorney Wolkowitz is known for his skilled representation of clients with family law and domestic relations disputes; examples of such cases include divorce, uncontested divorce, and cases involving the Illinois Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (the Illinois UCCJEA"). 

Attorney Dave Wolkowitz is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, and served for several years on its Judicial Evaluation Committee, investigation multiple candidates for the judiciary. He is also a member of the Champaign County Bar Association and the Sangamon County Bar Association. In Lake County, Illinois, he has completed guardian ad litem training for the probate division, and has served as a volunteer mediation assisting the probate court.

Previously, Attorney Wolkowitz employed his strategic thinking, negotiation, and communications skills as a consultant, college professor, journalist. His diverse professional background prior to his legal career sets him apart from many lawyers with a more narrow perspective. Attorney Wolkowitz earned his J.D. (law degree) from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was named to the Dean’s List several semesters and took advanced LL.M. (master of laws) classes in family law. He earned a master of science degree from Northwestern University, and bachelor of science degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Prior to the Wolkowitz Law Office, Attorney Wolkowitz worked for several other established law firms. While in law school, Attorney Wolkowitz was a judicial extern at the Circuit Court of Cook County; there, he worked in the Domestic Relations division and the Law Division. Also during law school, Attorney Wolkowitz was a law clerk in the Juvenile Division of the Cook County Public Guardian.
