Zoo
Lords Park Zoo, nestled within the picturesque Lords Park in Elgin, Illinois, offers a charming and historically rich experience for visitors of all ages. Established in 1895, this zoo has evolved from housing exotic animals like bears and even a lion named Lord Spark, to focusing on native species and providing a seasonal farm zoo experience. Year-round residents you can observe in their fenced outdoor areas include majestic bison, graceful elk, and elegant white-tailed deer. These animals roam in spacious enclosures, allowing visitors to appreciate them in a more natural setting. During the warmer months, typically from June through August, the Lords Park Farm Zoo opens, introducing a delightful collection of farm animals. While not a petting zoo, you can see various creatures such as pigs, calves, sheep, donkeys, ponies, and turkeys, providing a wonderful opportunity for children to connect with farm life.
