About
Hamilton Wings creates transformative experiences with youth facing economic and/or educational barriers through the use of and access to the arts. By utilizing the best practices of arts education, positive youth development, and culturally responsive pedagogy, Hamilton Wings empowers students to develop leadership skills and academic readiness by sharing their own, original creations through art, stories, and performances.
For over 30 years, Hamilton Wings has been serving youth and families in the Elgin area through afterschool and out of school programming, provided in partnership with the U-46 school district, families, community partners, and young people. Founded by the late Dr. Risé Jones and her mother, the late Ann Jones, Hamilton Wings was birthed out of a firm belief that children are naturally brilliant and talented AND that every child deserves access to the arts. Hamilton Wings is an in-residence ensemble at Elgin Community College
