About

The Elgin Master Chorale (EMC) is a cultural cornerstone of Elgin and the Fox Valley, featuring approximately 100 auditioned adult singers dedicated to performing choral masterworks and other fine repertoire. We collaborate regularly with esteemed arts organizations like the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, enriching our community through inspiring performances.

In 2023, we proudly acquired the Elgin Youth Choir (EYC), a vibrant program focused on 'Teaching life through song' for young singers in grades 2-8. EYC fosters a love for music while nurturing personal growth, offering unique performance opportunities and a sense of community for young artists.

EMC is also deeply committed to expanding our community engagement and outreach efforts. Through partnerships, outreach performances, and events like our Educational Connections Concerts, we aim to inspire more people to connect with the joy of singing. Our goal is to engage the entire Fox River Valley in a shared musical experience, from children to adults.

As a nonprofit organization, we are always seeking more support from individuals, businesses, and foundations to help us achieve our mission. Whether through donations, sponsorships, or volunteering, your support allows us to continue providing high-quality musical experiences for both our performers and the community.

As an In-Residence Ensemble at Elgin Community College, EMC calls the Blizzard Theatre home. We invite you to join us for a truly remarkable choral experience, whether in the audience or as a singer.
