Function / Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the planning, coordinating, and managing multi-disciplinary environmental health and life safety (HLS) and energy related projects across the district. Follow Board policies and industry best practices while promoting safe and energy-efficient learning environments. The ability to work in a collaborative environment is essential as this position will interface with various stakeholders.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
• Complete onsite energy audits of district buildings during both occupied and unoccupied times.
• Identify opportunities to improve the operation, maintenance, or energy efficiency of the buildings/processes/systems.
• Prepare audit reports containing energy analysis results and recommendations for energy cost savings.
• Manage and complete incentive applications and follow through to district reimbursement.
• Analyze and report records of all utilities and track and report trend usage.
• Develop, implement and manage energy conservation measures and provide necessary training to district staff.
• Make recommendations regarding building automation system (BAS) schedules as required.
• Provide project coordination and implementation assistance with environmental compliance initiatives including AHERA compliance, pest control, and safety.
• Be the subject matter expert for safety data sheets (SDS) management system and energy tracking software.
• In absence of the Coordinator, respond to 24-hour emergency calls, take appropriate action to address environmental or safety incidents.

Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent knowledge gained through a combination of education and work experience preferred.
Experience / Knowledge
• Excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and comfortable learning new software.
• Ability to set goals and establish methods of achieving them.
• Strong people and process management skills.
• Background or career experience in energy, environmental, HVAC, with project oversight preferred.
• Operate and conduct analysis in a busy environment with exposure to constant noise and communication.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License is required.
Physical Demands
• Travel throughout the district in support of the department's operations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift file boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
Terms of Employment
• This is a 12-month position.
• Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
• This position will require a flexible schedule.
• The salary range for this position is $60,243.00 - $90,353.00. Our typical practice is to hire in between the minimum and midpoint. ($75,298.00).
