Administrative Assistant

The Elgin Area Chamber seeks a proactive English / Spanish bilingual administrative assistant to join our team and serve as the primary liaison for our members and the business community. Responsibilities include responding to inquiries, offering information, organizing regular communications, and managing membership records. To excel in this role, you should possess excellent customer service abilities, thrive in interpersonal interactions, and consistently provide outstanding experiences while efficiently handling inquiries and service needs in a warm and effective manner. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining relationships with members and the community, engaging with them to promote Chamber initiatives. A strong customer service mindset, coupled with comfort working independently and, in a team setting, will be essential as you support the team in member engagement activities and events.

Administrative Assistant Responsibilities include:

  • Providing verbal and written information on membership, benefits, products, and services.
  • Actively listening to members and identifying their needs.
  • Maintaining and updating membership records.
  • Assisting with member communication activities.
  • Collecting and recording data and preparing reports.
  • Coordinating with accounting to prepare and process membership revenue.
  • Preparing membership marketing materials.
  • Providing support services to existing and prospective members.
  • Documenting all inquiries and maintaining accurate membership records.
  • Provided general administrative support services to the organization.

Member Service Representative Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and take initiative.
  • Highly organized, Strong attention to detail.
  • English / Spanish bilingual.
