StROLLing with Marklund-Resident & Volunteer Walking Club in Elgin

Description

Join us in an opportunity for residents and volunteers to bask in fresh air, engage in light exercise, and share quality moments—after all, every walk is more enjoyable when we embark on it together. If weather conditions prohibit our walk, we will host on indoor group activity with residents.

Where: Meet at the Wasmond Center (Elgin) 1435 Summit St Elgin, IL 60120– Main Lobby 

Route: One mile Mackenzie Woods (neighborhood behind Wasmond Center) 

When: Two rotating summer sessions 

Session 1: 

• Tuesday, Sept. 2 | 4:30–5:30 p.m. 
• Tuesday, Sept. 9 | 4:30–5:30 p.m. 
• Tuesday, Sept. 16 | 4:30–5:30 p.m. 
• Tuesday, Sept. 23 | 4:30–5:30 p.m. 
• Tuesday, Sept. 30 | 4:30–5:30 p.m. 

Session 2: 

• Tuesday, Oct. 7 | 4:30–5:30 p.m. 
• Tuesday, Oct. 14 | 4:30–5:30 p.m. 
• Tuesday, Oct. 21 | 4:30–5:30 p.m. 

Key Info for Volunteers: 

• Sign up required via Signup Genius HERE
• Must be 14+ to push a wheelchair 
• Closed-toe shoes required 
• 12 resident rollers (wheelchair users) per session; no limit for extra walkers
