Juneteenth Celebration in Elgin

Description

The Juneteenth Cultural Rhythm & Blues Festival in Elgin, Illinois, will take place from Saturday, June 20 to Sunday, June 21, 2026. Hosted by the African American Coalition of Kane County (AACKC) at Festival Park, the multi-day celebration will run from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM each day. The 2026 event is highlighted by a special tribute honoring the legendary blues musician Buddy Guy.

Main Event HighlightsThematic Program: The festival features the central theme "What About the Children?", highlighting youth pride and heritage.

Live Performances: 

Live entertainment includes a Saturday set by the Funk Brotherz Band and performances curated by DJ Dre.

Kid Zone Expansion: A dedicated family space offering interactive games, creative crafts, and reading corners.

Food & Amenities: A variety of culinary options via the local food vendor market, alongside the return of the festival beer garden.

Cultural Activities: Ongoing historical storytelling, community art exhibitions, and local marketplace vendors
