The celebration will begin with the Fourth of July parade at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Slade and Douglas avenues. The parade will proceed south on Douglas and conclude at Highland Avenue and Division Street, near City Hall, with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra serving as grand marshal. It is expected to wrap up by 11 a.m.

For the second year, Elgin will host a Pet Parade, which will step off at 9 a.m. from the NENA Butterfly Garden near the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Ann Street. The parade will follow the same route as the main parade and end near City Hall. Registration and additional information are available at elginil.gov/july4.
Following the parade, festivities will continue at Festival Park, 132 S. Grove Ave., and will include food trucks, children’s activities, games and live music. The concert lineup includes:
The fireworks show is scheduled to begin around 9:20 p.m. and will last 15 to 20 minutes.
