EVENT DETAILS

On Saturday, March 9th, the YWCA Elgin, with the support of Presenting Sponsor Claire's, will help make dreams come true for hundreds of high school girls at the sixteenth annual "Cinderella's Closet" event. Cinderella's Closet is a pop-up boutique where attendees, with the help of a personal shopper, "Fairy Godmother," can shop our thousands of gently used or new prom dresses.

To be eligible for entry, attendees must identify as female and have a current high school ID or proof of enrollment. Please visit the YWCAElgin.org/Cinderellas-Closet/ to schedule a personal shopping appointment (sorry, NO Walk-Ins) and review the shopping rules. Per CDC guidelines, facemasks are optional. A shopping appointment is required, and we will have private dressing rooms for each student.

COST

There is no entry fee for this event. Each dress purchased is $25. In addition to the dress purchased, each attendee will receive minor alterations, jewelry (donated by Claire's), and new or gently used purses and shoes (while supplies last) for free.

Students in need can receive the same at no cost with a signed Referral Form from their high school guidance counselor/social worker/homeless liaison. If your high school guidance counselor/social worker/homeless liaison did not receive the referral form, please have them contact Cinderella's Closet Coordinator, Sherry Kinser, by email at kinserton@yahoo.com.
