Proceeds from the Sherman Soirée will enable Advocate Sherman Hospital to sustain ancillary onsite musical experiences for patients and their families, visitors and caregivers. Research shows that music has a profound effect on both your physical and mental health. For more than a decade, talented musicians from the Elgin Symphony have shared the power of music each week via the Musicians Care program. We also offer therapeutic music for individualized patient care, which improves healing, self-expression and communication, reduces anxiety and stress, and helps manage Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. Our Certified Music Practitioner (CMP) tailors each session to meet specific patient needs in a gentle, non-interventional and non-pharmacological manner.
