Wolf brings 26 years of experience and leadership with the Elgin Police Department. Wolf was hired in 1992, promoted to lieutenant in 2006, promoted to commander in 2012 and then promoted to deputy chief in 2013.

"The talent runs deep in the Elgin Police Department and all effort will be made to ensure the next chief will build on that strong foundation," said Kozal. "I am continuing to seek guidance from the city council, the community and staff on the qualities desired in Elgin's next police chief, and a decision will be made shortly.”

Wolf steps into the interim post as Jeff Swoboda retires after 26 years with the Elgin Police Department. Swoboda will continue his career as the Chief of Police in Fort Collins, Colorado, beginning on Monday, June 4, 2018.
