World Leaders Forum: Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and former Vermont Governor Howard Dean will share the stage for Judson University’s seventh World Leaders Forum on April 19. The event, titled “A bipartisan conversation about leadership in divided times,” marks the first time since 2011 that Gingrich and Dean have shared a stage.
 
NTN Bearing Manufacturing Celebrates 100: Congratulations to one of Elgin's largest employers, NTN Bearing on their 100th anniversary. Since coming to Elgin in 1975, the company has expanded eight times and now employs over 800 team members.
Larkin High School Boys in Basketball's Final Four: Congrats to Larkin High School and their FABULOUS basketball team that went downstate to the Final Four. We’re so proud they finished in fourth place in the Class 4A tournament. These players earned the first trip downstate and first state trophy for a boys team from Elgin since 1955. U-46 Adds to Certified Teachers: Eight more School District U-46 teachers recently earned the highest credential in the teaching profession, the National Board Certification, joining more than 100 of their peers who have already earned the credential.
 
Elgin Image Award Winners: City of Elgin handed out Image Awards for their positive impact on Elgin. Individuals: George Rawlinson, Chuck Keysor and Bill Mathews. Businesses: Blue Box Café, Elgin New Citizenship Recognition Committee, Food for Greater Elgin, and Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley. Organizations: Elgin High School Band, Elgin Sports Hall of Fame, and the Historic Elgin House Tour.
