Development Coordinator 
 
Position Summary 
 
This position is responsible for assisting with grant writing, fundraising, public relations and locating new sources of revenue and donors associated with the organization’s operations.   
 
Position Type:  Staff         Reports To:   Executive Director     Hours:  40 hours 
 
Duties and Responsibilities 
 
 Assist the Executive Director with all grant writing, securing current grants and conducting research for  new sources of funding from individuals, foundations and government prospects   Supervise and coordinate all fundraising events and attend all board committee meetings  Assist in locating and obtaining corporate sponsorships for fundraising events  Write fundraising letters and appeals; oversee mailings; maintain regular correspondence with foundations and donors and assist in building and maintaining those relationships  Public Relations – helping the public to understand what PADS does and encourage them to get involved by volunteering or making donations  Supervise newsletter mailing   Speak/give public presentations on behalf of PADS as needed   Attend mixers and other public events  Research and document relevant area expos/events and make recommendations for participation   Evaluate effective marketing options for PADS and provide oversight of all graphic design  
 
Job Requirements 
 
 Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communications skills; excellent oral communication skills with ability to participate in public speaking events  Excellent written communication, research, and organizational skills  Ability to speak knowledgeably and enthusiastically about the PADS mission, programs, initiatives and be able to articulate how the organization makes a difference in the community  Must be computer literate - experience with fundraising databases preferred  Interest and enthusiasm in fundraising and working with people  Self-motivated, works well under pressure and is able to handle several projects at one time   Able to use good judgment and identify changing program needs   Must be available to work some weekend and evenings as required
