Job Description
The Director of Sales at the Hampton Inn Chicago – Elgin/I-90 manages and directs sales efforts to secure business travel clients and to establish long-term relationships with these clients. Responds to sales inquiries, initiates new sales, prospects and qualifies leads and solicits potential clients, conducts site visits and answers questions, determines rates, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, services accounts and analyzes lost business for the hotel/s. Develops sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals. Works with various departments to ensure requested services are provided to customers. Manages the financial aspects of forecasting and budgeting for the sales department.

The Hampton Inn Chicago – Elgin/I-90 has 108 guest rooms. LNR and CNR account relationships are a focus along with maintenance of current accounts and identifying new accounts, prospecting for and booking groups (SMERF, corporate and meeting space bookings), helping with revenue management strategies, monthly reporting and communication with operations counterparts.


Our ideal candidate will possess:
* A minimum of 5 years in a Sales Leadership role
* Experience managing a sales team
* Ability to successfully lead efforts to meet and exceed production goals
* An aggressive approach in uncovering new business opportunities
* Experience with Delphi or other Sales System is required
* Strong communication skills and is a relationship builder
* Excellent time management skills
* A professional and polished demeanor consistent with our brand
* Ability to trouble shoot and think proactively
* Ability to work weekends and holidays are required
* Weekends and holidays may be required as business needs warrant
